Short Post on Faith over Fear

"When facing an obstacle, my father often said to me, 'Your faith is stronger than your fears.'"

That's what Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate from Maryland, Angela Alsobrooks, shared at the DNC convention on Tuesday night.

That resonated with me.

It reflects my experience of the artists I love to coach.

Clients come to me when they are standing at the threshold of change.

As they look into horizon stretched out before them - they describe feeling a mix of faith and fear.

This quality of "faith" - which I've also heard described of as "optimism" and of "Trust,"  has a profound energetic impact on our ability to commit to an uncertain path.

And we need reminding that we can embody those qualities!

As Hon. Alsobrooks is reminded of this inner strength over the years by her father, we must seek reminders for ourselves too.

  • We can find it among people who reflect and champion our commitments.

  • We can go within and connect to the source of our own desire that knows what we are capable of creating.

  • We can enter spaces and places that resonate with the energy of hope, purpose and meaning.

  • We can act in the direction of our courage and find evidence of our strength along the way.

When we do all of these things - we will surprise ourselves with what we will create!
